Slipmat Week Notes 7/2026

TGIF people of Slipmat!

Lots of new stuff this week. Let’s dive right n:

New Features

  • You can now fan artists from the artist page, artist chat channels and from the live page. (v2 feature parity)
  • Users can now edit their user profiles (v2 feature parity)
  • Artists can now edit their artist profiles (v2 feature parity)

Bugfixes

  • Joining artist channels by link works properly now. All artist have a public chat channel. The URL looks like https://next.slipmat.io/chat/djuninen/. This URL can now be shared and if the user is not yet joined, they are presented “Do You want to join”-screen.
  • Next-redirection works now properly so you’ll be redirected automatically to where you were going if you need to login. (v2 feature parity)

Enhancements

  • Public artist pages look much better. This is not the final template but a SEO-friendly temporary placeholder, with most of the data now available needed to finalize the UI. We’re basically just on par with the old not-so great public pages  (v2 feature parity)
  • Artist chat channels display artist details and live / upcoming events more prominently. It’s easy to jump to the live event, look at artists profile and RSVP to upcoming events directly from the artist chat channel.
  • More caching improvements; photos and other media feel snappier as more of it is now properly cached.

Misc

I wrote myself a custom app for displaying several different developer logs in one place. This helps development so much when you can observe several logs from one single view and also toggle between different log levels in real time. This is currently in very alpha status but when it’s a bit more stable I will open source this.
