Slipmat Week Notes 39/2026

Good HEllo people of Slipmat!

After a rare week of silence, let’s dive in to recent changes.

New Features

Artist Stream Dashboard is now improved with Glance mode, a minimalistic full-screen version of the dasboard intended to be monitored behind the desks or further away. The above explanation video shows the details.

The video is first test for our in-development documentation tooling for creating simple tutorial videos for the site. All feedback greatly welcome!

Archived events with setlists uploaded show now a Setlist Covers tool on the event detail page. It allows you to build one image from 4 or 9 album covers picked from the albums in the event set list. This is powered by the free and open Slipmat Music API. This is an experimental tool for marketing purposes.

Enhancements

  • User lists on Stream Dashboard and elsewhere no longer drop offline-users.
  • Anonymous homepage has been improved for mobile-sized screens.
  • Homepage feed building has been improved to maximise meaningful music content and minimize non-playable entries.
  • Event ending leaves now the video running in the background so that the audio won’t cut off when the event ends. Artists can keep the audio running for the whole 30 minute cooldown if wanted.
  • Login / Register experience is improved. It works differently when there are live events so that the flow is smoother for anyone coming in for a live event. (And then minimizes spam and abuse when there are no events live.)
  • Opening DMs from chat is improved and the related errors are cleaned up and improved.

Bugfixes

  • Event photos can be now reliably updated. Thank You @Phoole for the bug report!
  • Fixed a minor security issue with Backstage post syncing. This was found by the new Claude Opus 5.5 model.
  • Spotify embeds on the homepage now have correct size.

Slipmat Desktop Alpha-28

  • Feat: Glance Mode.
  • Chore: Upgraded all dependencies.
