Good Hello, Slipmatians!
We are preparing for big things. While waiting for those to land, here are the details of this weeks features, tweaks and fixes.
New Features
-
Artists can now add experimental Meta (Facebook / Instagram) connection. Due to Meta quirks the setup is a bit painful but working connection allows us to create functionality around posting and managing your Facebook pages and Instagram accounts (including posting content). This allows tools like one-click promo posting for multiple sites once – or even fully automatically depending on your preferences. At the moment we only have the connection set up for future experiments, no actual useful features yet.

There’s now an experimental Homepage connector for static Astro site builder. This allows adding your own static homepage to be managed by Slipmat API, so that you can manage your homepage directly from your artist dashboard (or even fully via our AI connector). This work is in very early stages but the idea is to allow artists to host their modern homepages using Slipmat. This feature requires your own domain name (existing can be transferred). I’m using my own site DJ.Uninen.net as an example, and future features like gig booking app, fan-gated pages and upciming show-lists are in the works.
One cool thing that this allows is the full use of our AI connector, which means you can ask things like “is DJ Uninen available for a wedding gig in January 23rd?” or “are there any DJs available for hire in London area for November 14th” from ChatGPT and it just knows how to answer without any setup by the user directly from Slipmat data. The agent can also make full bookings directly on behalf the user if they --and you as an artist-- want to. It also allows full design and editing of your homepage by the sme agent using the AI connector (which you then need to install and conect to your own account). This directly benefits all Slipmat artists who have opted in to using the related functionality and have their profile data up to date. Currently the automatic service discovery works reliably only for ChatGPT but they are by far the largest commonly used tool and other providers will most likely pick up this new standard very soon as well.
I’m eager to hear any ideas or comments related to these features – if there is something special that you would like people to find or do regards your services via automated AI agents (that people use constantly via their phones and even cars nowadays).
Enhancements
- Registrations are now more visibly open whenever events are live. We are not promoting registrations yet universally but anyone can create an account during any live event using Apple or Google logins (which means there’s much smaller risk for automated bot signups which we had in the v2).
- Upgraded the music link converter to work with latest Tidal changes.
- The artist Stripe connection is further improved. We’re now ready to build the actual tipping functionality.
Bugfixes
- Fixed a weird bug that broke random functionality like Artist dashboard page photos only in production (meaning development sites and tests worked fine) due to a rare issue in production dependency bundle building. Tweaked production configuration so that this kind of issues cannot happen int he future.
- Fixed a bug in playlistparser library which now failes properly when given a broken playlist file
- Fixed several smaller issues that ended up in Sentry – making our whole Sentry account totally zero this week as well.
Slipmat Desktop Alpha-27
- Feat: scan local DJ App libraries (only Traktor and Engine DJ for the alpha period) and allow uploading of any playlist directly to artist Track Collection.
- UI: Only show artist Stream Dashboard tab when artist has a live event
