Slipmat Week Notes 36/2026

Good hello, people of Slipmat!

This week was meant to be a break from the months-long sprint to get v3 polished for final release, but we did end up fixing a bunch of bugs and implementing a couple new major building blocks for future features.

New Features

  • Artists can now connect their Stripe account. This is the biggest and most difficult part of the step for being able to receive tips directly to your own Stripe account. The tipping itself is not yet implemented but this here is the bigger part of the iceberg done.
  • In addition to the Spotify connect added last week, we now have YouTube Connect as well. Together these two allow “Sync my Spotify playlists to YouTube music” functionality, and that has also been implemented, but due to Google API restrictions we’re not able to properly rurn these syncings yet. Our application has been sent for Google for a review.

Enhancements

  • Bug reports can now include screenshots and if you don’t know how to take one, there is a button that takes one for you (it requires browser permissions).
  • External request event artist UI is now much better and cleaner.
  • Snake has arcade-style highscores (for authenticated only)!
  • Artist Track Collection playlist edit menu is now correctly rendered near the mouse cursor instead of the corner of the screen.

Bugfixes

  • A bug that reseted external event settings to defaults when the settings were saved has been fixed.
  • Homepage feed creation had a timeout bug that has been fixed.
  • There was a Sentry issue fetching bug in the mcp server which has now been fixed.
  • Fixed an issue where looking for a missing or deleted event would result in backend crash. It not properly returns 404 Not Found instead.
  • Plugged again few instances where unneeded known and handled errors were unneededly sent to Sentry.

One More Thing

Now that we have our native application in active development, I wanted to figure out what we could do with a native application for artist-related workflows between various DJ apps. A personal pain point for me for a long time has been duplicates and broken files across different libraries and keeping the applications in sync. There are existing tools like Lexicon, but they cost money and don’t fully satisfy my own needs.

I created an experimental app that is very fast, super easy to use, and safe – it will never lose any data. Native application opens lots of doors for things that simply cannot be done properly via Web so there’s quite a bit to experiment here. Currently this is purely experimental but I’m happu to build a development copy for anyone interested – just ping me!

Current features:

  • Sync playlists between Engine DJ and Traktor (Rekordbox planned)
  • Map history occurences of tracks as play count in Traktor
  • Sync any playlist From Engine or Traktor to Spotify using Slipmat Music API and Spotify Connection
  • Find and clean up duplicates (using modern audio fingerprinting and highly optimized hand-tuned deterministic algorithm)
  • Fix mp3 files with broken headers
  • Find and relocate missing tracks
  • Fast and easy backups + restores of Engine and Traktor libraries

Planned features:

  • Sync playlist from any library to Slipmat Track Collection
  • Upload any playlist or history file as event set list
  • Full Rekordbox support
