This week has been a very busy one but we’ve still got a pretty nice collection of new goodies for you to enjoy 
The live page especially is slowly getting in shape where it should be; most of the important functionality is in place and you can now do most of the everyday things from within the live page and the bugs are slowly been ironed out. Thank You for everyone for helping out with the alpha phases!

New Features
- There is now a full UI available for voting for proposed events. Artists can propose one or more dates for an event, set a minimum listener count needed for the event to happen, and listeners can now vote from the public event page. The plumbing for this and other event enhancements was implemented few weeks ago, now it can be used fully without
experimental_featuresflag. - Artists can now add event setlists and recordings properly from the artist dashboard and event detail pages.
- Artist social media statistics are now collected before and after every scheduled event. Being able to follow your audience growth over time is very important for gowth hacking and existing services for this cost literally hundreds of dollars per moth – which you now get for free with your Slipmat artist account Were starting with Facebook page followers, Instagram followers and Titter/X followers. (More can be easily be added as per artist requests!) If you have any of these accounts set in your profile you’ll get a notification to verify the accounts once to get the stats collecting started. We’ll add proper analytics/statistics dashboard to follow these numbers in a more meaningful way and to download your stats data soon.
- Users can now edit their profile details directly from the live page. Open up your own profile card and click “Edit” or type
/profilein chat to edit your profile. (You can also edit settings via/settings. All chat commands are documented in/help)
Enhancements
- Even scheduling form has had major cleanup. This is the most important form on the site so it deserves some extra love! Artists are now prompted to store preferences for tags, weekdays and show times for easier and faster event scheduling.
- Event tag input offers now a proper typeahead support for suggested and official public tags which makes inputting tags much faster and less error prone. The “official public tags” is a much deeper topic that we’ll expand more in the future but basically we want to allow easy browsing of artists, recordings and articles based on music labels and genres. We’re using MusicBrainz taxonomy together with a custom most used legacy tag styles for the initial base. Using your own tags/labels is of course still totally possible and you can add any custom tags for suggested tags as well.
- Artist profile has now suggested tags, suggested weekdays and suggested starting hours for easier and faster event scheduling. These are all optional and suggested defaults are calculated automatically based your existing event data. For vast majority of artists who stream on dedicated days and times, this makes scheduling much faster and more convenient. (Although this will be properly handled in the near future with a “Show” model that allows artists to create shows that have specific recurring times, after which show event creation is 100% automated and you need to set only exceptions by cancelling/rescheduling a weekly slot with one button instead of doing meaningless scheduling tasks weekly. Obviously per-event marketing details, photos etc stay the same except better as we can have more and better customization for shows!)
- Artist dashboard renders upcoming and past events better, and in general looks much better on multiple screen sizes.
- Artist event detail pages now expose most important event stats.
- New Slipmat fans are now announced on event chat.
- Slipmat fans are now calculated in event stats (pre/post event)
- Users can now set their timezone explicitly in the user profile by overriding the browser timezone or let browser to decide automatically. Forcing an override is useful for many situations (if you travel a lot or if you use multiple browsers in multiple environments, for example) as you can effectively lock your timezone throughout the whole site as it was in v2. We use the modern Temporal Web API directly which unifies all date, time, and timezone handling in the frontend and leaves everything to the browser instead of mixing and matching backend API and random JS libraries.
- The request system (which is still visible only for users who have
experimental_featuressetting toggled on) has had some UI tweaks for the live page UI. It’s still far from release-ready but at least its now usable enough for some basic testing. You can toggle requests on for an event from the event echedule and edit form, and listeners (who also need to have the experimental toggle on) can then see the requests button on the live page chat header. If you have a large Traktor or Rekordbox library, testing the import functionality (Artist dashboard → Song Library → Imports) would help testing the new importer! - Quiet launch: new users can now register using Apple / Google sign in. When you do this from the live page, the page will not refrest, you can complete the full registration while keeping the music playing (We’ll open up full normal registrations including artist creation soon.)
Bugfixes
- Live page chat title area no longer breaks when event title or HYPEs or any other content grows too big. Thank You @Phoole for the bug report!
- Artist owners / members with crowd control permissions were not properly set up as scheduled event chat channel operators; now they are (and we have an automatic test case to make sure this wont happen ever again).
- Artist profile form handles timezones now properly. We use the same plumbing here as with the user timezones. (Artists can have separate timezone to the user.)
Under The Hood
- API has gotten a major performance refactor relating to live page functionality (namely stats collecting, HYPEs and presence statuses). Were now ~70% more efficient in handling the data just by cleaning up the architecture a bit. This will help keeping every action on the site snappy in the long term. Slipmat API is powered by latest Django (Python 3.14), Redis and PostgreSQL.
- Frontend dependencies / tooling has been upgraded to latest major versions. This one has been pending for months and was finally possible due to awesome open source community efforts. Slipmat frontend is powered by latest Astro and Vue (with TypeScript).
