Introduce yourself

Hi everybody👋!

My name is Nino and I’m from Kajaani, Finland. Just joined Slipmat.io to be a part of this wonderful DJ-community.

I’ve been playing records since 2005 mostly here in Kajaani in all nightclubs what we have here (Onnela Kajaani, Club 96 and Sound Factory Bar & Nightclub) and also the clubs which doesn’t exist anymore (Bepop, Night Valjus, Backstage Bar, Club Sofa etc.) There was also 2 gigs in Helsinki few years ago and hundreds and hundreds of gigs here in Kainuu :loudspeaker:

I’m a founder of Konehuone- and Kellari-club consepts which were held in Club 96 between years 2010-2018. There was 14 events during these years and I’m proud to have been DJing along the biggest DJ names in Finland (DJ Orion, Rony Rex, Milla Lehto, Proteus, Genki just a name of few.)

Nowadays I’m resident DJ and event promoter in a new club called Sound Factory Bar & Nightclub. The club is build in an old waterworks-station so there’s such strong warehouse vibe in it :love_you_gesture::fire::boom:. The club also have the biggest and loudest soundsystem in northern Finland powered by Cerwin Vega.

I prefer to play all kind of electronic music and I love to change my style quite often. In this moment i’m interested to play hard, driving techno and groovy tech house but I also love to play progressive/melodic trance and drum & bass.

You can find me and my DJ sets from these social media platforms and I hope you to follow me - I’ll follow back :ok_hand::wink:

Hi Everyone,

Great community! My name is Bino and I’m from Vancouver, BC. Locally, I’ve been spinning as Miami Sound System since 2017, trying to bring Miami vibes to this boring town. I’m a party music ambassador bringing 30 years of bass culture, South Beach vibes, Miami rock, and salsa y merengue. There’s not much of a club culture here, but there’s always a party in need of good vibes. Be good, everyone!

Welcome everyone! Glad to see such diversity in both city / nation of origin but also music genre!
It implies broad mixing styles and ideas.

Hi everyone,

My name is Dónal and I’m from London, although I have also recently spent a lot of time based in Brazil.

I have been DJing as Mango Park since 2011, playing a wide variety of genres, but mostly focussed on African and Latin club sounds. For an idea of my sound, you can check out my soundcloud.

I have played and run club nights, festivals and carnival sets across the UK and Europe, as well as in Brazil and USA.

My current projects include running a party called Baile LDN, blending Brazilian baile funk, South African gqom and afro-house, Angolan kuduro and UK funky.

I am also resident at another party called Come We Grow, where I spin some more mainstream-recognised genres from Afrobeat, Highlife and Cumbia to Afrobeats, Reggaeton, Dancehall and Soca.

I have also done a number of radio shows over the years, some of which can be found on my mixcloud.

Looking forward to getting involved in the community here on Slipmat!

30 year DJ. Full time DJ but corporate background in Electrical Engineering & Sales as well as Finance across many different industries.

Open format primarily. Nightlife, clubs/residencies, corporate events, weddings and everything in between. Currently ranked the #1 mobile DJ service in San Francisco, CA for the last 7 years. Blessed to be doing what I love doing and being around good people through this journey.

Given the world’s current situation, I’m still getting booked for the rest of the year and into next year. So don’t give up hope everyone! People will rely on music now more than ever to help them get through these trying times as they need to break away from the dystopia for the time being and are especially itching to have / go to a great party/event once things turn around.

I count my blessings every day. Have actually never streamed any of my sets but was told by others in the community that I should so I can help bring some of my vibe, style, and cheer to those who could use it.

Godspeed.

Hi Everyone,

My name is John and I’m part of Arc Sound Stage and Lighting. We are an event production company based out of New York City with a heavy focus on nightclubs, festivals and stage shows. This pandemic had us close up shop but rather than shut our doors we decided to do what most have and keep the party going through live streaming. We have been streaming DJs through our social media pages with a fair level of success. I stumbled across this page while trying to research ways to optimize our live stream experience. This seems like an amazing community full of people who are all here because of their passion for music. I look forward to being a part of this community. Cannot wait to hear and put on some amazing mixes. Hope all of you guys and your loved ones are safe and healthy during this pandemic.

Hey there,

my name is Ronny, and like so many of you these days, I found my way to here because of confinement. I’ve been DJing for 37 years now, mainly in Luxembourg. For a couple of years now, I’ve been collecting video clips too (many rarities), so I will try to put up some nice video shows here. I keep my repertoire pretty broad and varied, although my specialty is 70s/80s/90s pop and dance. I’m not much of an fx fiddler, but I can count to 16  so let’s see if I can keep up with all you spin wizards :metal:

Many greetings, stay safe, stay hooked! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hello People,

Im LEFT, aka TwItCh, AKA Dustin. I am NOT a DJ, yet. I however am a sound designer, producer, engineer, live sound guy, etc. I got my professional start working for Sonic Reality and IK Multimedia, and am currently about to release an acid house album with the help of RDJ. I have started doing some live streaming last few days and a couple radio/dj sets mixed in but that’s a nightmare of legality. Anyway, I look forward to poking around here more and more.

Hi folks,
happy that I discovered this nice community of music lovers!
So my turn to introduce myself.

My name is Sascha, living in Berlin and being a music enthousiast, audio engineer in training and DJ. I also do project management in different projects, partly working as Head of Production in an Booking Agency and a Project supporting Sustainable Clubbing of Berlin’s club scene.

I am part of the lovely DJ and music scene there, together with the DJ-Project Sonne, Mond & Mango, my two best friends and me started back in 2014. We started this in order to play music to our friends, making parties and of course having fun doing it. Our musical style got pretty much influenced by the Berlin influences of House, Deep House, Techno and Downtempo, but we feel at home in almost any musical genre. Since I used to work in the Social Startup Scene in Berlin and being interested in Social Entrepreuneurship our project has always been connected to support good causes, organizing parties with fundraising money for social projects and such. Music and sharing it with people, creating enjoyable moments for us and others is our passion. One of the most fulfilling things is to co-create a happy and good vibe together with a music loving crowd. It moved me to tears several times during a set. Just wonderful to feel happy, connected and alive.

As you could imagine, during the Corona crisis, it is impossible to do enjoy parties in Berlin and everywhere as we used to. I am not too sad at the moment, since that gives me plenty of time to follow my other passions and enjoy and appreciate music from a different perspective and outside the club again.
Of course, we still seek possibilities to share music. Online streaming as an alternative is an obvious solution. We already broadcasted some of our livegigs online a few times in the past, but eventually never got too deep into it, since copyright regulations always has been a problem for us as DJs playing music mostly from other producers and artists. Giving it another try the last two weeks led to the same old problem, so looking for alternatives to the popular streaming platforms such as Youtube, Twitch, FB etc. led me to this wonderful place.

So I am very excited to join the community and hopefully being able to share some nice streams with all in the near future.

If you got any questions, please feel free to approach me <3.
All the best,
Sascha

Hi There, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Ben and I’m from the UK and have been into music forever! No specific genres, there’s good to be found everywhere. I’ve been DJ’ing for myself on and off for about 20 years, started with CDJ’s and then moved to vinyl, which is my favourite medium. I currently use 1210’s and am just getting started with Serato as I can’t afford all the vinly I want! I used to play out a little, parties, weddings and a few festivals but haven’t for years. I used to play funk, disco, house and trance but now prefer breaks and Hip Hop so anything goes really. I have lots of DJ friends including some turntabalists who I’m going to try and get invloved in slipmat.io. I work from home, doesn’t everyone these days, as a DevOps Engineer, boring IT stuff but it pays the bills! I’m really looking forward to being an active member of this exciting community and platform, initially as a listener and later as a DJ. Stay well and keep safe one and all. Peace - Ben, benz66, DJ Bendz
