Has anyone managed to get out of here, the ‘delete account’ option is failing and I’m losing the will to live trying to actually set up an account before I have to apparently gain approval from an unknown mentor and watch other people play music I have no interest in. After 35 years in the scene building a worldwide rep in the genres I specialise in, I’d have expected a few basic checks maybe, but this is ridiculous, and I just want to delete my account and stop getting emails telling me how great I’m doing when apparently that count for nothing.
I’m not telling random strangers my real name, I use the name I’ve been known as for 35 years on every social media site and gathering I’ve been a part of and yet that’s not good enough? Forget it. Please kick me out of that’s what it takes, but I’m fed up wasting time here trying to please people just to do what I do.

Not sure who has asked your real name but I assure that is nowhere in our process. (Your listener profile has real name but many use just first name there which is totally ok.)
The account deletion process, as instructed on the page, is two-folded and this Backstage account needs to be deleted separately (as it runs on a third-party software). Please pm me if you want to delete your account and I’ll delete it immediately.
(Also, if there was some issues with deleting your account on the main site, it would help to get some more details to fix the possible issue. But by looking at the logs it should work ok.)
