Artist Info: v3 Migration Status

This is important information for all artists regarding the v3 migration status and steps to pass on to your listeners who might not read the weekly status notes.

Last updated: Friday, July 17

Too Long; Didn’t Read

  • v3 is now running on the main domain but is not officially launched yet (artist creation and normal registrations are still closed)
  • New registrations are now open for Apple/Google login methods. Normal registrations wont open until everything is done, but v2 users can log in already
  • You can follow the progress in realtime on GitHub
  • The updates are posted here and linked on homepage and artist dashboard

Migration Status

As of Jul 2026 the old site is no more and all traffic from next is redirected. We haven’t launched v3 officially yet but almost everything is now in place and working.

The current up to date list of remaining v3 features to be implemented is here: https://github.com/slipmatio/slipmatio/milestone/8

Trying to log in with unmigrated v2 email guides the user to do a one-time migration to v3. The migration process is pretty smooth; when logging in or resetting password using v3 email, user is presented with “Send migration email” button. Clicking the link in the email migrates you and logs you in.

Public v3 Launch Timetable

Things still to be done before we migrate the domain and open up registrations (detailed in the public ticket tracker):

  • Artist creation
  • User registration
  • Tipping

The timetable is unknown but we’re aiming for August.

All bug reports and general usage of the new v3 site helps making this process faster

Frequently Asked / Known Issues

  • New registrations are open via Apple and Google. If you did not have v2 account, you can now register just by logging in with your Apple or Google account. Normal registrations will open later. If you do have v2 account, reset your password using your v2 email and follow the instructions.
  • The v2 user account migration relies on email. If you use Sign In with Apple and hide your email, we cannot find the original email you registered with so migration your account only works by manually resetting your password using the old original email. (Solution: instead of logging via Apple, reset password → use original email → finalize registration as per email instructions.)
